COURSE OBJECTIVES
The Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (T.E.S.O.L) is an introductory course for people who have little or no previous experience of English language teaching. It develops greater knowledge and awareness of language systems. It develops skills of reflection and planning.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The lectures focus on language awareness, phonology, language skills and managing learners. The participants are required to complete one written assignment and 4 lesson plans. There is no written examination. Assessment is continuous.

To gain entry into the course, you generally will need to have 3 SPM credit including English or other qualification of an equivalent standard as approved by the institution. Mature and experience candidates will be considered.

OBJECTIVES
This course is specially designed to help individuals who not only want to master phonetics & phonics, but to be able to teach them to Non-English speaking adults and children. By the end of course, trainees will have better grasp of the use of phonetics & phonics and will be able to speak better.

PREREQUISITES
Trainees should preferably be TESOL, Pre-School teachers or those who are pursuing a career in English language teaching. Individuals who just want to improve their pronunciation skills are also welcomed.

To apply for the course, all trainees are to meet the following admission criteria: SPM Minimum 2 Credit with credit in English

20 Hours (Theory)-contact time with tutor online/Classroom
1 hour (Practical Assessment)
9 hours (self-study to prepare 6 lesson plans for project submission)
Total: 30 hrs

Upon successful completion, participants will be awarded with Certificate in Teaching Grammar by The TESOL Training Centre Canada.

In order for you to gain entry into the Diploma in TESOL, all applicants should meet the following entry requirement:

• High School Year 12 English / GCE ‘A’ Level or TTTC Certificate in TESOL (TQUK Level 5) or equivalent qualification.
• Be competent in Spoken and Written English
• Relevant qualifications and teaching experience would be considered.
• If you do not fall within any of the above categories and think you are qualified for the course, please submit all your qualifications and a letter explaining why you should be considered. Your application will then be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

QUALIFICATION
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Level 7 Diploma in TESOL. This Diploma is endorsed by an Ofqual approved accreditation body, TQUK, at a level of learning equivalent to Level 7. (Direct learning with UK)
